Thanks to Lauren Myrick, I was invited a couple weeks ago to speak to GE Women’s Network. Here is what they had to say….
*Life Coach Event Summary*
*Tuesday, September 18th 3:30pm – 5:00pm *
Though it was a cold and damp day, the weather outside did not affect the brightness and energy inside the Jordan room at Knowledge Park on Tuesday, September 18th.
Allison Parr-Plasha, local life coach and therapist, lead a group of women in a series of activities to bring them more in-touch with their current self and teach them how to move towards their future self. The first question she posed – “What brings you joy?” – quickly got the room buzzing… by the time five minutes was up, the “alive-o-meter” in the room was significantly higher and everyone was wearing a smile.
Next, the group examined the ten slices on the Life Wheel.. a great activity to perform a self-check and observe current state. Allison then separated the group into pairs in order to share a few goals from the Life Wheel activity – answering the question, “what is your ideal state? – with no limits or ‘buts'” Finally, the pairs took turns coaching one another on the goals shared… “what will you do this week to take a step closer to your goal?” “What specific days and times will you dedicate?” and “How will I know you’ve followed through?” were some of the questions a coach would ask the
coachee.
The powerful activities Allison shared are wonderful tools that translate into life-long skills! In today’s busy world, it can be easy to lose yourself in the day-to-day routine. Life coaching is a great way to break out of a slump or take your life to the next level. The Women in Commercial group would like to thank all who attended and making the event so great!
